Comments:

Great overall experience. Got to resort in 20-min from the airport. Sstaff members were very cheerful and helpful. Amenities include a beautiful pool complex and desert hiking/biking trails. Golf course is fun and challenging with lots of elevation changes and risk/reward holes….lodging includes suites with great views from cliff-side units. Their signature restaurant has the "Best" view for dinner in all of Phoenix….and anytime you can check-in after 10pm and get a delicious "5-star" pizza from the bar/lounge by 10:30pm, they've got my vote!...resort provides a perfect location for corporate groups, meetings & weddings. They have a wedding location at the pool that is really cool with 100 foot three-tiered cascading waterfalls as the background. It’s hard to find a better value in the Valley of the Sun.

Edgewood Tahoe Lake Tahoe NV

Comments:

LODGING: I stayed at the beautiful Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley, CA at the North end of Lake Tahoe, site of the 1960 Winter Olympic Games and recently voted one of the “Best Mountain Resorts” in the World for 2016.….the views from your hotel room of the mountains and the Links at Squaw Creek golf course are spectacular…..other amenities include: The Spa at Squaw Creek which was named a “Top 5 Resort Spa” by Conde’ Nast Traveler….I saw the fly-fishing classes while playing golf in the morning, they also have: footgolf, mountain biking & hiking, tram rides to the top of the mountain, shopping at the Olympic Village and one of the best mountain pool complexes.

GOLF: the Lake Tahoe area is home the best mountain golf courses in the World…Period! They include: Grays Crossing, Old Greenwood, Tahoe Donner, Shaffers Mill, Incline Village, Nakoma Resort & Golf and the Links at Squaw Creek. A couple of my favorites are Grizzly Ranch, a 5-star course where Grizzly bears occasionally wander on the golf course. In South Lake Tahoe, the 5-star mountain course just east of South Lake Tahoe, Clear Creek G.C and one course not to be missed is the Edgewater Golf Club on the shores of South Lake Tahoe. This is the home course for the Annual American Century Celebrity Golf Classic and home to one of the “Best” 19th Holes in the World.

Reunion Resort Orlando FL

Comments:

Whether you “winter” in Florida or simply join the flocks of snowbirds who load up and head to the sunshine state for a sabbatical, Orlando, Florida is a destination favorite for kids of all ages. Orlando is unmatched as the world’s #1 family vacation destination and you can expect the same unmatched experience while playing three courses designed by three Hall of Famers.

If you want to play on the links, then “Central Florida’s Finest Luxury Resort” is the place to be. Reunion Golf & Spa Resort boasts signature courses by three legends of the game: Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson. The Reunion Resort & Club has been called “America’s new breed of family resorts” for its amenities and comfortable, laid-back atmosphere.

Location, location, location! You’ve heard it many times, and the Reunion Resort has it. Nestled on 2,300 gently rolling acres, the resort and courses are ideally situated just 20 minutes from the Orlando International airport and only a five minute drive south of the Walt Disney World exit off of I-4 south. In addition to three championship golf courses, amenities include a five-acre, multi-pool water park, a first-class tennis complex, stables and riding trails, a state-of-the-art spa & fitness center, 18 miles of walking and biking trails and boutique shopping at the Reunion Square.

Golf at reunion resort includes the 7,147 yard Tom Watson course, his first Florida design. The course opened in February 2005 to rave reviews including my own. This terrific layout sports wide fairways flanked by white-sand bunkers and large undulating greens that highlight this non-traditional looking Florida course. Holes two through six boarder the lower part of the Davenport Creek Reserve and offers undulating terrain with 50 foot elevation changes, unlike most courses you’ll play in Florida. The five-time British Open Champion’s design includes openings for run-up shots to the closely mown green complexes, which places a premium on an imaginative short game. Golfweek recently named the Tom Watson course at Reunion Resort on its “Best Resort Courses for 2017” list.

The Watson course is also home to a recent sensation called Foot Golf. Foot Golf is played like traditional golf but with a soccer ball and offers a unique and exciting way to experience the undulating fairways of the award-winning Watson Course. FootGolf is played using the basic model of golf, with a tee box, a green, bunkers, hazards, a similar scorecard and 9 or 18 holes to play. The main differences are the cups, which are 21 inches in diameter, the ball (a #5 soccer ball), the shorter holes, and the fact that the players kick the ball instead of using clubs. Reunion Resort hosts a number of tournaments throughout the year.

The Watson Course joins one of Arnold Palmer’s best designs at Reunion Resort. Like the Watson Course, Palmer’s track also winds through the wetland preserve areas by way of numerous wooden cart bridges. Water, wetlands, woods and palm trees all come into play on this rolling terrain for those golfers that choose the wrong tees. The Palmer course is another non-traditional Florida course where Bermuda grass and white sand bunkers are strategically placed to catch errant shots and frame each hole. Palmer’s go-for-broke philosophy is evident at the short 349 yard par 4 13th hole, where a risk/reward challenge awaits long hitters who try to reach the green from the tee box.

Reunion’s third championship course is a smooth and flowing parkland-style layout designed by Jack Nicklaus, with long horizon lines and elevated tee boxes and greens. Nicklaus designed it to tempt golfers into hitting risky shots with potentially big payoffs. The Nicklaus course was recently ranked as one of Florida’s top tracks.

The resort’s accommodations include luxury one-, two- and three- bedroom Villas plus multi-bedroom Vacation Rental Homes for the entire family. The accommodations include spacious living and dining areas, full kitchens, patios and balconies. Vacation Rental Homes also boast guest favorite features like private swimming pools, game rooms and even their own putting greens. You may even be able to watch Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney Studios fireworks each night from your balcony!

Reunion also has a number of dining options available before, during and after your round including The Cove, a poolside favorite, the Grand Lobby Sushi Bar, rooftop dining at Eleven and fine wines at the an authentic Italian Bistro.

Meeting and wedding space at Reunion ranges from breathtaking ballrooms and spacious conference rooms to an eleventh-story rooftop lounge and poolside patio with award winning views of Disney World and Orlando. Recent awards include; Smart Meetings, Platinum Choice Award (2016, 2017), Convention South, Readers' Choice Award (2016) and Facilities & Destinations, Award of Excellence (2016).

Reunions Boutique Spa is a luxurious five treatment room sanctuary away from your everyday cares and worries. Each Spa service allows time to relax, reflect and revitalize. Massage options include among others; 50 or 80 minute deep tissue, warm stone, couples or golfers massages. Seasonal treatments include a spiced cider pumpkin manicure & pedicure or a spiced rum body polish. Now that sounds yummy!

Reunion is truly an international golf and vacation destination. I played a round of golf on the Watson course with a homeowner who lives in Scotland and owns two vacation homes. He loves the fact that he lives only 5-minutes from Disney World.

So, whether you come from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin or Lake Geneva, Switzerland, the Reunion Resort will surely provide you with a “magical” experience.
